Delivery of steel tanks by ship to Norway

Good planning is a key

Every work we start from planning. The scope we received included transportation of 4 x steel tanks ø 4.8 m and 3 tanks ø 5.0 m from Estonian port Sillamäe to Norwegian ports Dusavik and Kristiansund.

Cradle supports under the tanks were located far from tanks’ ends, that added extra challenge for lashing & securing.

Right ship for the right cargo

That was a perfect match. We chose a twin-decker vessel of a smaller size but with a great deck area. This led to keeping the transportation costs at a minimum. On average, this solution is nearly 40% less expensive than traditional box-shaped ships.

Lashing & securing method planned

In order to ensure safe and reliable transportation, we carefully planned and confirmed our lashing and securing methods with both our customers and the ship. Due to limited space onboard, we made necessary revisions to our plans multiple times for optimal efficiency.
